As 2025 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on our 35th year. A year that has seen high demand for our ApprenticeSearch.com program and services, and expanded the possibilities for career development in Ontario through the Ontario Career Lab. The Ontario Career Lab: Career Conversations is a new offering from HIEC. A province-wide initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Education that empowers young people to understand themselves, explore opportunities, and make informed decisions about their futures. It wouldn’t be possible without the help of volunteer Career Coaches, people from all industries, occupations and pathways, who share their career stories in small-group conversations.
This year, thousands of students across Ontario discovered the power of career exploration through our in-school Career Conversations program. Through guided activities, real-world connections, and meaningful dialogue with our Career Coaches, students learned that careers aren’t just about choosing a job.
Schools from every corner of the province embraced the model, integrating Ontario Career Lab resources into classrooms, guidance offices, and school-based programming. Across the board, teachers told us that the Ontario Career Lab is helping students feel seen, supported, and excited about their futures.

For those of you who have participated, thank you. If you are curious about getting involved, please visit www.ontariocareerlab.ca.
In April 2025, Women as Career Coaches (WACC) brought together approximately 500 community members for an inspiring day of mentorship, learning, and networking. This annual event remains a highlight of the year, empowering women to support students in exploring career pathways and building their confidence.
Plans are already underway for the next WACC event on April 9, 2026, and we can’t wait to see even more participants come together to share, learn, and inspire. We hope to see you there!
None of this progress would be possible without the Career Coaches, educators, families, employers, partners, and supporters who walk alongside us. Your belief in this work fuels the Ontario Career Lab’s growth and impact.
As we close out this remarkable year, we celebrate not just what we’ve achieved — but what we are building together.
Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a New Year filled with hope, possibility, and meaningful connections.
