Annual Women as Career Coaches Event Inspires Youth in Career Exploration

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Forum offers support, mentorship and inspiration for young women planning their careers

Burlington, Ontario (March 1, 2018) – The Halton Industry Education Council is proud to present the 14th annual Women as Career Coaches mentorship event. This event is designed to support young women in the Halton community and inspire them to have open conversations about occupational pathways, post- secondary destinations and work/life balance. The event will include many elements, but the focus will be on sharing career experiences, insights, and journeys with young women in an informal, interactive format.

Throughout the evening, 600+ young women and career coaches will engage in table top discussions on a variety of career related topics. With several spotlight speakers featured, they will each spend a few minutes sharing their personal career journey, offer insights they have gained over the course of their career and advice they would give to their younger selves.

Since 2005, WACC has hosted over 7,000 women and career coaches from our community – with attendance growing every year. We encourage women from all backgrounds and careers to sign up as mentors to share their own career stories.
