HIEC’s Career Development Lab presents the Summer Career Education Workshop

Burlington, Ontario (August 8 2019) – The Halton Industry Education Council (HIEC) is proud to present a Career Education Workshop for youth grades 7-9 who are interested in exploring their interests, skills and the world of work. This 2-Day workshop is focused on educating youth to address their potential and act as a guide in their career journey.

HIEC’s Career development lab is filled with research on over 4000 different jobs and information on many different pathways. This exciting workshop style approach will give youth the opportunity to take that first step at discovering all of the possibilities their future has to offer. The workshop will include a Q & A mentor panel featuring both high school students and working professionals, along with the opportunity to research potential pathways and career-related activities.

As an organization that is committed to partnership, mentorship and workforce development, HIEC is excited to be working to extend learning beyond the classroom. HIEC firmly believes that young people will be more successful if they are empowered to make informed and inspired career choices and are connected with opportunities in the community. The upcoming workshop is an excellent example of youth supporting youth as they navigate the transition from school to career.
